Teeth is formed in the layers of enamel, dentin and pulp. Pulp is in the innermost part of the tooth. Nerves and vessels that feed the tooth are in this area.
Endodontics is a branch of dentistry that examines the disease and treatment of the pulp.
Many teeth that were decided to be removed in the past are treated with the technology and techniques that have developed today and are kept in the mouth. In teeth exposed to trauma or large caries reaching the nerve, the nerve of the tooth should be removed and the cavity formed should be thoroughly cleaned chemically and mechanically.
When healing is achieved, the tooth is filled with suitable canal filling materials. This process is called “root canal treatment”.
At the end of this treatment, the patient gets rid of his pain. With an ideal canal treatment, the patient continues to use his teeth for many years.
